molten horn needs a non-crt setting to make it less painful to look at, nostalgia or not.

the other one has pixel art, completely clashing 3d character portraits and the most generic font available. not a good overall look.

Also, those portraits look totally AI generated.

I was just about to write this, unfortunately the Oxygen Cocktail portraits do look like they are generated by an AI, you see them everywhere online these days. It's heartening to see that I'm not the only one who has noticed this, it means that they are still far from being able to replace humans.

Thanks for the confirmation milkyhighway.

The CRT warping effect is also over the top, isn't it? A little warping may be ok, but not to the point where it almost looks like a sphere!
still no GROM or Cold Zero?

GOG, AI content generators are highly unethical.

Interesting.

What is unetical about it? is it because it is a different form of "slave" labour? Is it the sweat shop 3d country situations that many AI have been used for training? is it because there is no clear legal defeinition on who owns copyrighted material generated by AI?

or any other reason?
'Awesome' is one word for it.

Sometimes it feels like we're subjects in some weird experiment.

Maybe we are. That's my very same thought after checking that strangely feminine looking dude with the "soup strainer" on the trailer. I mean the %&$ man?! ;P

AIs don't need to be paid and artists are starving.
Everything's Awesome!!! Now I must toil. Toodles.
While I do agree that in this case those portraits really don't fit with the game's art style otherwise, I'd much rather have AI generated art than resources that could be put into actual game design and coding redirected to purchase art or hire artists, or worse, have games not be done at all because the devs don't have art skills and can't afford to purchase or hire. I mean, the alternative in those cases is using free/generic art found here and there, which still doesn't pay artists, still takes dev's time to track down, and is likely to make the game look the same as who knows how many others.

As for artists starving, so do many other people, and that's a problem of how human society is built and maintained, the finance-based system and the now ever more artificially-maintained need to "earn a living". We should work on breaking out of that vicious cycle instead of propping it up.

The aesthetic of Molten Horn seems all wrong.
