Gudadantza: So in case of a TM in the title your indignation because of the long title would be different? Well, whatever :)
No, my beef is that it's a stupid-ass title. Your excuse is the trademark. You know, the trademark that is nowhere to be seen.

Fugu21: I've got two questions, maybe someone know:

1. Will Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete still be available for purchase (separately) after the release of NN2:EE?
2. Is there any discount planned for Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete? It's been two and a half years since the last one...
Probably yes, Soul Reaver 1 and 2 weren't removed when the Enhanced edition arrived.

Time will tell, but for your information a registered brand does not need to have the TM explicity in their logo.

But that does not change the fact of Dungeons & Dragons is a Brand trademarked by WotC. Don't you understand that the use of this trademark without the right to do so would be a "problem"?
It's been years since WotC decided to change the logos to the old complete name. NW2 Complete is previous to the change. You know, They logos, their decission, for any reason.

Ok, you dislike the long brand in the logo but facts are facts, with TM or not TM in the logo it is trademarked, period.

But well, whatever.
will there be a discount for people who own the OG?

Mean.Jim: I thought they weren't able to do an enhanced edition because the source code was lost.
I think that was Icewind dale 2.

Weird amount of vitriol from you about the title displayed on the store page. Besides, Wizards or Hasbro might've stipulated that it be included this time, and/or Aspyr is trying to cash in on the surge in popularity of D&D as a CRPG license in the wake of Baldur's Gate III (irrespective of the tanking popularity of the brand in the tabletop space more recently).

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 OG was removed from the store (legal reasons), 2 is still available, and both are playable within Enhanced edition via F1 key, like Monkey Island EE or Full Throttle Remastered, you can switch old look and new look on the fly.

NN2:EE will probably mean removal of NN2:Complete and, in the best of cases, including NN2:C as one part of extra content for buyers of the Enhanced Edition.

Grargar: Was the Dungeons & Dragons in the title even neccessary? Who the fuck will call it by its full name?
What a weird nitpick.

I mean he is all hard on the "Bad Title name, but fails to quote the origional title to the origional NWN2, which was "Forgotten Realms Neverwinter Nighte 2"

Which is just as lengthy. But at the ame time stile a F'ing DUNGEONS & DRAGONS product.

tremere110: Yay! It's not Beamdog! Oh, it's Aspyr... ::sigh:: dammit.

On one hand, no pointless drivel that makes the original worse because of poor writing. On the other hand, if you make any mods Aspyr owns them in perpetuity.

Well that sucks.
Complain all you want about the revisionism and questionable features Beamdog did to the infinity engine games, but their updates to Neverwinter Nights have been nothing but good.

Just bug fixes, hud scaling, optional graphics improvements, and expanded options for module creation. The original modules are all untouched. And (other than Dark Dreams of Furiae being complete crap) -- the new premium modules have been good as well. I do not play multiplayer, but ive read that Beamdog has done a lot to expand and improve multiplayer/persistent world features as well.

Neverwinter Nights is STILL being updated by Beamdog, which is not the case with their work on the Infinity Engine games.

I doubt Aspyr will maintain Neverwinter Nights 2 the way Beamdog has maintained Neverwinter Nights 1. Once NWN2 is shipped and the initial sales happen, it will at best receive a few patches and be abandoned.

And as you said they probably will put some clause in their EULA saying any modules made for their version of NWN2 is somehow their property.

This is peak Old Man Yells at Clouds
Just as surprised as some people that this is headed up by Aspyr and not Beamdog. The latter did a fantastic job on the original Neverwinter Nights. That game is still getting a steady stream of updates and expansions. It has truly withstood the test of time. What about NWN2? Well, even on its release it couldn't overshadow the first game. There was lackluster support for mods and shoddy multiplayer options. It's no wonder that NWN community as a whole never moved en masse to it from the original game.

That being said, I'm still a bit puzzled why Aspyr would be pinged to remaster this guy. Beamdog could have probably brought it up to the standard that everyone is expecting. Not to mention actually make it worth the time for players who make mods and content. I just don't see NWN2 having the same longevity and support as NWN enjoys today.

EverNightX: Adding controller support has me interested. I wish someone did that to Dragon Age Origins.
I can't even imagine playing a game like this with a controller and not wanting to eat my hands in frustration.
Terrific game, but the enhanced edition will have to offer a major improvement over the original + mods to make me pay £30.

That's not peak, I'm angry at both Dungeons & Dragons being included in the title AND the fact it's all in caps.
