Missed this thread yesterday and I was wondering why no one mentioned his passing.

No need for tears or condolences because he was 90, but man what a brilliant human being.

Like a D.J. said on the one of the local stations last night, "Do you honestly think it was the Beatles' idea to add strings to their music!?" :D

"Being For The Benefit of Mister Kite". The musical track is actually a tape of several different kinds of horns that George recorded, cut up the tape, threw in a hat/mixed up, and then dumped out and randomly taped back together. XD

Well,...actually...there are a lot of "fifth" Beatles:

Mitch Benn, Liverpudlian musical comedian, performed a show at the 2013 Edinburgh Festival Fringe entitled
"Mitch Benn is the 37th Beatle".

Benn counted everyone who claimed to be the fifth Beatle and tried to arrange them, "in descending order of Beatledom", including himself.

His list was:

-Pete Best (5th),
-Stuart Sutcliffe (6th),
-Tony Sheridan (7th),
-the rest of the original Quarrymen (8th-12th),
-Andy White (13th),
-Jimmie Nicol (14th),
-Billy Preston (15th),
-Eric Clapton (16th),
-Brian Epstein (17th),
-George Martin (18th),
-Derek Taylor (19th),
-Mal Evans (20th),
-Neil Aspinall (21st),
-Badfinger (22nd-25th),
-Jeff Lynne (26th),
-Monty Python (27th-32nd),
-Neil Innes (33rd),
-David Catlin-Birch (34th),
-Neil Harrison (35th),
-Elvis Costello (36th),
-Mitch Benn (37th).

So, going by this list, there were/are at least 37 "fifth" Beatles. And even if we leave some out, because they're obviously meant as jokes - there are still around 20 of "fifth" Beatles.

Takes a little from the fame, huh?
