"GHOST HAUNTING brings pixelated mischief, cheeky demons, and heartwarming chaos to the world of point & click adventures

It’s cute. It’s spooky. It’s a love letter to the 90s.

Hamburg, Germany – July 10, 2025 – Daedalic Entertainment and Three Headed Monkey Studios are teaming up to release a brand-new, classic-style adventure game. GHOST HAUNTING blends lovingly hand-drawn 2D visuals with subtle spookiness and dark humor—true to the spirit of genre-defining point-and-click classics. Developed by a new indie team of true 90s kids, the game offers a nostalgic yet modern take on the traditional adventure formula: An all-new 2D point & click adventure with a big nostalgic heart, modern comforts, and a protagonist who isn’t even old enough to ride a ghost train alone. Players join 8-year-old Gigi on her journey into the afterlife, armed with nothing but her curiosity, questionable logic, and a talking pumpkin-demon named Baron Butt(er)nut.

During a supposedly relaxing vacation, Gigi stumbles upon the family secret: her grumpy grandpa Giovanni is a legendary ghost hunter. This revelation quickly spirals into a plan to bring back her late grandma from the realm of the dead. How hard can it be? Spoiler: very hard. And potentially world-ending.

With handcrafted pixel art and a quirky cast of characters (say hello to the Gargoyle Labor Union and some one-quarter-dead zombies), this game is a story that explores grief, growing up, and ghoulish missteps. GHOST HAUNTING delivers everything players love about the golden age of adventures—without the frustration.

Key Features:

- Classic point & click gameplay with a modern twist
- Built-in hint system, hotspot highlighting, and fast travel
- A “Not-getting-stuck” guarantee
- Wholesome chaos meets heartfelt storytelling
- Zero jump scares. Probably.
- A brand-new IP with serious sequel energy

Whether you're here for the puzzles or the puns, GHOST HAUNTING is ready to make you laugh, cry, and maybe question the ethics of interdimensional travel.

Speaking of ghoulish missteps, did Daedalic ever get rid of the writer who decided a solution to a puzzle was, "Hypnotize a woman into servitude as an organ grinder"?

Context please? I mean seriously depending on the context like for example if the character being controlled is a bad person or evil or similar context then its fine with the context .. Because you know bad person doing bad things is a given .. Among other cases where context matters if such a thing is bad or not ..

Also one can write sick and twisted stuff without being into such things themselves or at least not believing in them or doing them in real life.. Seriously if that was the case we'd not have alot of media from the past and present thats violent, with guns and so on .. let along other game themes and topics that isn't okay in the real world

Twer' one of the Deponia games, which is a series I don't feel like scrolling though longplays of because to put it frankly, the protagonist is a misanthrope in the same league as Brent Halligan & Hopkins. And as the games are 4-8+ hours long, that'd be a lot of scrubbing though footage.

Comedic Sociopath is one thing, but there's a slight difference between that and being a creep who's trying to pine for while ruining the life of a woman he wants.

So dudes openly stated or clearly portrayed as a bad guy even if a protagonist of the game? If so then no big deal so long as the writing doesn't make him seem as truly a good guy doing lots of bad deeds and such without proper justifiable reasons in universe or advents in universe making it be a have to thing..

.
If my assmption of the context is right then it seems like you are making a mountain out of a molehill.. A.K.A making a big deal out of nothing

Atleast thats my take away from this
