Imagine being a store that sells video games in direct competition with Steam, to the point that you have a Summer Sale at the same time as Valve.

BUT YOU DON'T END IT AT THE SAME TIME?

My money went to Steam because the sale was still on during the last day, while GOG had already ended for some dumb reason. Imagine not wanting money from all the last minute shoppers.

I can't imagine who came up with this dumb deadline but I just assumed they would both end at the exact same time. Steam marketing of the Summer Sale is so much biggest than anything GoG could ever hope to do. So why not match the time exactly?

Signed dude who was gonna buy a bunch of sweet games on GOG, but instead had to buy one game on Steam instead.

Edit: I am just writing this to blow off some steam. Feel free to roast me in the comments, it's fully deserved!

I spend 3 bucks on steam this summer sale btw, would had spend 20 dollars max on GOG. So it isn't the biggest lost.

You've been here sense 2012 so you can't seriouslly be unaware this happens regularly with all big sales

Isn't Gog's Sumnmer Sale started before the one on Steam ?

And yes the sales tend to be that way too

So what?
Also, you've been here since 2012 and you've got just 29 games. So, truthfully, you don't prefer GOG, no matter what GOG does, do you.
But– there was a big banner on the front page outlining the duration of the sale... did you just assume the dates matched those of Steam, and wait until the very last day?
Bud, as BanditKeith2 said, GOG sales start like 1-2 weeks before Steam. And it's be dumb to compete with Steam given GOG's market share right now.

Like CarChris said before, you prob don't care about DRM-free if you're making a big deal over $3 or $20 in lost revenue.

Everyone, I apologize for this Canadian's ignorance.
There's someone here who should be ashamed of themselves, but it's not GOG this time.
Should I be upset when Ross, JCP, and Macy's all have out of sync sales too?

Because that's the sort of implication here.
Not really and there will be sales on top of the sales.

Yes it is
Well, at least we finally identified the real reason for Steam's success.
Just imagine a similar post on the other platform.

"... should be ashamed of themselves. I was so excited for the summer sale and so eager to spend money. but they started the sale at a later date than GOG. So when I decided to spend money and buy games, I only had one choice. I ended up giving $100 to GOG and I am starting to like my drm free games better. Sorry other platform your revenue will go so low now, get ready to declare bankruptcy."

Well, if everything here is just roasting the OP (even if they allowed it), I think it's better to just close this thread.
I hope you have a pleasant weekend though :D
