This game as a kid

Literally at the end:
https://youtu.be/hEIS7a0GQQc?si=w-9Hv180O00kdpKm&t=173

As per this playthrough there was just 10min left in a game.

I could not do key strikes quickly enough for it to work at later stages of that 'activity'. kept failing, fingers hurt, wrist hurt.

still bitter about it 30 years later.
Bail .. on games.

Thats either a very creative use of language or a deeply disturbing way to view games.

I have never ever sworn in any way to finish a game. I finish them if I have a good time. If I dont, I just stop. Its a GAME.

I guess if its an online game then yes you could bail on the people who want to play with you, or you can bail on the community as a whole. Sure.

LoL

On the Rock Paper and Shotgun discord i once permitted myself to talk about myself as a gamer. Let me tell you, that statement did not find a lot of agreement. Gamer??!! do you call yourself a gamer?? though actually.. when i'm wargaming it more or less feels like an job, a job you like but, a job or activity you engage in for the greater good of mankind

I feel there's also a distinction between a Gamer and a gamer, too. =p One of them actually engages with the trash merch that Gamestop/Hot Topic puts out and complains about video games they've never played, the other just wants to see Mario do his funny jump and play games.
Cavern of Dreams! I took the nearest exit and jumped off the vehicle as it trailed off of a cliff...and then exploded!

Much to my dismay the game's last quarter makes it a giant puzzle I don't have the time for.
I want to go back but I'm just following IKEA instructions at this point.

Main campaign dungeons are fixed, so any decent walkthrough should get you through.

The other dungeons are made of repeating blocks, so once you learn where a door trigger is, it should always be there for that dungeon block.

If I'm not mistaken, DFU has a command to send you directly to the dungeon objective (the letter, in your case), and you can work your way out from there.

Magic teleporting dungeon doors in Daggerfall look like red brick walls in door frames, if I'm not mistaken. Yes, super counter intuitive.

DFU also has a configuration to limit random dungeons to a single building block. They get extra repetitive extra quickly, but become way more manageable.

Overall, I enjoyed my time with Daggerfall, but it's not an Elder Scrolls game I plan on seriously revisiting any time soon, despite keeping it installed in my PC.

Not sure about latest but some more notable ones:

Witcher 1 - couldn't decide on the language. Played through act 1 constantly swapping between Czech, Polish and English. Polish was by far the best and richest. Found the english translations often lacking just from comparing the prologue in all 3 languages. Czech is based on the english, so not much help either. Polish would be the best of course, however, my understanding of polish is not good enough to have a amooth experience playing the game. Czech/english subtitles are not an option either, as both are based, again, on the english translation. With polish subs/voice, often had to replay conversations to get the gist, which got tiring quickly. Ended up dropping the game and never coming back at the end of act 1.

The game really needs fan-made subs based on the polish voiceovers.

Rayman Origins - just couldn't get over the regression back to 2D and the art style

Serious Sam: Bogus Detour - just wasn't having fun and disliked too many aspects about the game

I don't think this is part of the main story but a side-quest I got from some civilian or royal, not sure... At least the dungeon feels so damn random.

So I guess I could just let it go and proceed with the rest of the game, but it aggravates me I've used several hours to go through that damn dungeon, and are probably very close to finding the objective (I've already discovered like 99% of the dungeon, missing only those few rooms which are floating somewhere without any physical connection to the rest of the dungeon, probably behind some teleport).

BTW I did find one such red brick tile wall but it didn't teleport me to any of those missing rooms, but somewhere else where I think I had already been.

Thanks, I guess that would be the ultimate cheat to solve such aggravating dungeon quests instantly, especially since you can also teleport back to the dungeon entrance with the Recall spell. I need to check if there really is such a cheat, at least I can see where the objective is in that damn dungeon.

I have played and finished only the first TES: Arena game before this, and while it was much simpler and uglier action RPG compared to Daggerfall, it was also quite manageable due to much more coherent 2D maps. At least I usually had some idea where I should be heading next and what is still to be searched in some dungeon.
