Looks like we now need a "Does it run on Win 10?" thread to accompany the W7 one...
Oh, i this case, from the wishlist it goes... what a pity. :(

Strategy game - I am out.
We really need some filters ;)

WTH, you edited your post! :-D

I want to answer:

Windows 10 is my last Windows OS.
On the one hand, I only use it for gaming and have only used Linux for everything else for well over 15 years and it's time to use Linux for games too.
On the other hand, there are more games for MS-DOS up to Windows 10 in order to fill several lifespans with entertainment. In other words, I am more than adequately equipped.

What ever...

True, a default value for the profile.
I need it for the Anime-Manga-Girli-Stuff, not my taste.

mqstout: Some people seem excited. Howsacome?

I'm highly skeptical of Slitherine releases... They seem to have an MO of "overcomplicated for its own sake without benefit to gameplay".
They actually have a lot of not-overcomplicated games that are not on GOG. They also made the Starship Troops game, which is not overcomplicated.

I wouldn't call Pandora: First Contact, Panzer Corps 1,2, Field of gory 2, Fantasy General II and Order of Battle overcomplicated as well.

It was just a frustrated rant about how I dislike the road Microsoft is taking, and the unjustified hardware consumption of their recent products. I mean, my colleague is telling me that his Windows work laptop regularly maxes out 32 GB of RAM with Outlook, Edge, Teams, and Office alone. My work laptop has 16 GB of RAM and regularly runs out of space on the hard drive to write swap files, when I have nothing but the Microsoft Office suite installed, since we are not even allowed to install anything. Even our IDE is virtualized these days and runs in a browser window on a remote server. How Microsoft manages to max out 8 GB of RAM on such a machine, let alone 32 GB is beyond me.

But that's hardly interesting in this context, so instead, I'm just happy this game doesn't need Win 11, since I'm trying to hold on to older products that are less dependent on the Microsoft cloud for dear life. On the work computer, I can't even start the bloody thing, if the darn cloud is having whatever sort of trouble. I meanwhile need three devices to even turn the bugger on. A phone, a work phone, and the actual computer; only so they can each Multi-factor each other in a circle.

The single-sign-on is a nightmare. The entire office suite non-stop wants to be connected to the cloud and each and every single product "single-signs-on" individually. I have no idea what the bloody SSO is even there for if then every piece of software on my computer does its own bloody session handling and all of them ask for MFA repeatedly, even within the same program.

And don't even get me started on forced updates. I waited 1,5 hours the other day for some security update to install. Windows was stuck at 90% for an hour saying "don't turn off your computer". Probably they would start eating children if you don't comply. There was no indication as to what it was doing. Probably waiting for a bloody cloud service to time out when it lost connection. I lost all my work because they forced the restart on me, and had to call in to the office to tell them I was still alive and didn't bugger off for a private joyride during work hours. Windows is a bloody joke these days!

Yeah, I know, but I was answering on this and I was so confused, because the quote was different. :-)

This game needs a performance patch already after playing the first mission, and my fps were anywhere from 35 to 70 fps. Nothing stable.

I'm playing with a 3070, i7 12700F with 32 GB of RAM.

Edit: Maybe it was just the first mission because the FPS are stable now.

HNNNNGHhhhh... I certainly hope it doesn't.
Just finished the first couple introductory missions and got my arse handed to me in a quick skirmish against realistic AI, runs flawlessly on Win10 v1909.
Hi, I was a closed beta tester. Can anyone here verify if multiplayer works with those on steam? I got a coupon for beta, but only works for Slitherine steam keys but I like GOG so much I want to forego it if GOG has working crossplay. If not, I will have to hold my nose and go steam ...

This is a extremely well made game. It plays more similarly to the Men of War side of things (but no inventory), and you have squads that move together rather than the individual men of Men of War (I know they come in squads too but in Men of War you can and should split them apart).

Closest is its spiritual predecessor Syrian Warfare where you play as the good guys (lol), a good guy cop in fact, against hordes of insane, fanatical bad guys backed by shadowy forces. Learn to micro, use smoke and pop in and out of cover to take a shot and dodge atgms.

Here you start as a Cop, play as the good guys against hordes of fanatical robots, backed by a shadowy force called Legion. Learn to micro (a ton), use smoke and pop in and out to dodge ATGMs from robot spiders.

For the people talking about how Dark Fate movie sucked, yes, but you know that they buy the license way ahead of release, and since the movie sucked, they probably was able to get it for cheap.

In terms of story, the campaign barely used any of the plot points from Dark Fate (which was bad, but I think better than Genisys). No Arnie as a drapery salesman, no mention of John Connor (I mean, in this timeline he was a rando killed overseas after all), no time travelling.

The things from the movie is basically Ctrl -replace for Skynet -> Legion, T 800 series -> Rev 6. In fact, the Rev 6 IS the T-600 (arnold without the biological skin). Just replace it in your mind if you want and modders can easily fix it.

I believe in Dark Fate it showed the Rev-7s as spidery robots with knife hands, those don't exist in game. Nor the Rev-9 infiltrator antagonist from Dark Fate.

So you do get classical Arnold without skin, you get literally the same HK tank from Terminator 1 future scenes, you get the same HK plane from T2 future scenes. You get some plausible near future weapons (wolf packs seem related to Boston Dynamics robots). They are contractually prevented from saying Skynet instead of Legion, but just replace it in your mind, (or wait for modders), and you get a game full of juicy Terminator Goodness.
Founders, Legion... WTF? Where are my SkyNet and rebels?! Terminator franchise is dead. Let the dead rest in peace.
