herbwest Please release the GOG Galaxy client for Linux, because there are many penguins out there who would prefer to buy games on your site, but don't do so, because of the convenience of the Steam client. Sorry for my bad english, but I'm no native speaker ;)

feedmebits Official support would be nice but don't let that stop you from switching to Linux because both Lutris and Heroic Games Launcher have support for GOG, I prefer the latter.

if its not on linux... since im ditching w10 later this year, i might have to abandon GOG after all. Unless i can support it on linux.
AlfaScarlate Unlike Valve you guys on GOG doesn't have to roll out a linux distro, just make sure it's compatible with the SteamOS linux and other popular linux formats. That way it can be launched normally on SteamOS (for Desktops and SteamDecks) and alongside to those who also want it on Desktop normally.
If it's there, I'm certainly ditching windows 10 after end-of-support later this year anyway and just can't abandon GOG, unless, of course, the devs show no interest in porting it to linux.
mmmm_k I've loved using Windows for PC gaming for years, but Microsoft is making it pretty clear that they want to move out of the home PC / general computing market, and so we should probably acknowledge that reality. There's really no desktop alternative to Linux ATM that I'm aware of. Frustrating as it is, it's time to move on.

murderface8 Hi there. Want to throw my support behind this. I am currently trying to get Heroic Launcher to work but no joy so far. It would be really great if there was more linux support. It just makes sense as the market share of users on linux is growing all the time. Get ahead of the curb.
jorgenman I'd love to see a GOG client for Linux. This is the main reason I hesitate to buy on GOG - I don't want to have to use third-party tools and workarounds to play my games.

Legerine I would love to have a GOG Galaxy client for Linux.. It is pretty much the only reason I have not pulled the trigger on my secondary system and stil have windows on it.
metalsasi If you take game preservation seriously, you cant rely on Microsoft Windows forever. You will need to update each game every time, Microsoft introduces some breaking change to their product, and they did this several times in the past.
With Proton however, you might be able to create a more consistent environment. You can fork it, install older versions of it, install fixes on to it.
I think Proton has a much brighter the future of game preservation, and with a few exceptions, it works perfectly with GOG games to me.
GitMerge Oh, I thought there was something wrong with me, couldn't find the installer while browsing from a Linux machine. I'm about to complete my switch from Windows to Linux, I guess I'll use Steam instead :(
Btw, it's 2025, I know it's not a small project but you're not exactly a tiny shop either.

vasto1 You can run GOG Galaxy on linux by using "bottle's" program and run games whit "proton". I tried it and it work good by most the time, although would be nice to have native linux client.
9IR7 flushing money down the toilet not implementing this. I don't want to manually install updates and DLC, so steam is all I got, even though I want DRM free, and to support what GOG is doing.
pmdci It baffles me that GOG is not available on Linux yet, since several games on the catalogue run through DOSBox, which is available on Linux. Plus GOG's philosophy of keeping old games alive, which should embrace Linux.

MajicMan GOG Galaxy on Linux with Proton (or similar) would be the best. Steam makes it so easy to play games on Linux with Proton. Even MS games work better on Linux with Proton than native on MS.
AccursedImmortal I use steam os mostly for gaming these days (with the exception of multiplayer with anti cheat). It would be nice to have a native client that can install on steam deck easily.
