Let’s keep making games live forever. See you soon!

pferreira1983: I appreciate they're both on here but at this time I can't justify buying them when I already bought them on Steam.
That's totally understandable. But keep in mind, this is a chance to "own" a set of offline installers. In other words, DRM free copy that you can never lose under any circumstances (barring an apocalyptic event, in which case, that's the last thing you'll worry about lol) IF you back it up. :)

We lost power a few time in my state, it's been a weird year for thunderstorms and now of course we have a heat wave (or heat dome, apparently I just learned another new term). I was so glad I had offline versions of some of my games (and offline versions for my kindle books too, I can't play games all the time!) or I might have been bored out of my mind lol.

I got rid of most of my hard copy stuff. I would have loved to have kept them, but my apartment is just too tiny for excess storage.

It's interesting you should say that. I did bring up the idea of backups on Steam and was met with the standard reply that you can already backup your Steam games.

As far as I am aware most games if not all you can't on Steam except maybe some real early ones or something and from what methods I have heard its sketchy at best if the claims made our legal in most parts of the world on Steam game ''back ups''

You can back up your game files on any installed Steam game by right clicking on the installed game in your library, and Back up game files under the manage heading. Restore backups from the Steam client under the Steam menu in the top left, Restore Game Backup.

And heres the crutch of the problem it needs install apparently and looking at the guide .. you apparently need Steam installed on the pc also to indeed install these back ups and play em

Edit and many people who I seen before talk about these back ups say ''Steam backed up games don't need Steam to play em.'' among other claims that come off as sketchy at best.. especially when Steam says otherwise

Some of the best Steam (and EGS) games that can be backed up are on my list. The others usually can not be backed up, as they usually will need an account running which is a "hard DRM".

Indie games more likely can be backed up but there are still a lot of them, for example "Signalis" who got a DRM, so this is not a general rule.

Some people may argue "in usual it is just Steamworks" which is a rather weak DRM. In some cases this might be true but it is usually combined with "Steam Stub" along with some other "hidden secondary DRMs", which are still strong enough that it usually can not get removed with an easy tool; it may still need some crack.

Ultimately, GOG is the only "real DRM free store" with a serious amount of any kind of game, not just Indie only.

They're the only one left. There used to be Desura, GamersGate used to have tons of DRM free stuff, Humble Bundle used to be mostly DRM free.... Not anymore.

Yeah, Gamersgate replaced some of my DRM free games with steam keys..

Wodenke: The japanese version of DMC 4 also seems to come with an exclusive extra.
No premium movie for baka gaijins, I suppose.

Anyone know a free/open source VPN that allows to temporarily move to Japan?
Tested

DDDespair: If you sign up for a ProtonMail account (free), you also get access to the free servers for ProtonVPN. Unfortunately you
can't choose which server it connects you to anymore, so you're going to be playing roulette with it until it gives you a
Japanese server. While I'd like to have the JP voices myself, I don't think it's worth buying it twice. Curious how it would
show in library/wishlist if I took off the VPN.
on https://www.gog.com/en/game/devil_may_cry_4_special_edition_jp (got the id name from gogdb) while set to a JP IP address and it only redirects to the main page. Same result in incognito mode.
Not my type of game, but I'm nonetheless very happy to see Capcom and GOG bring the Devil May Cry series here! :D I know that it's quite popular amongst many GOG gamers. Gives me hope that Capcom may release more stuff on GOG in the near future. ;) Great news!
high rated
It's seems GOG is aware of the problem for DMC4 and will fix it.

Now, this is an amazing news.

I hope more Capcom games will arrive in the future.

This is what I don't get. Is it one or the other? If I don't have an installer to play offline without needing an Internet connection is it really a backup?
