Dear explorers,
We are pleased to announce that the Stellar update for Distant Worlds 2 is now available, bringing significant improvements to gameplay and overall game quality, enriching your interstellar journey through the galaxy.
This completely free update is to address stability issues, significantly reducing crashes and launch problems that players may have encountered previously. With these fixes in place, we aim to ensure a smoother and more seamless gameplay experience for all explorers
Would you believe me if i'd said that this text managed to steal a laugh from me ? In public no less!
I've been following this game for a quite a while now, and of course read through the every update text. I
believe that since the start, the segment detailing 'crash free and performance upgrades' has been an integral part of their starting lines. I am curious though, quite soon after launch, about 4 months in, the game's been nothing but stable to me. Maybe 10th gen cpu's have a free ticket for this indie team? Who knows. Maybe it is just the nerds.
I'm also curious about why they would lay the emphasis on the 'free update' part. Just your standard pr type of talk or at least what they perceive to be standard?
Anyways . . . I've laid the game off for the last 6 months or so, getting your self into Slitherine/Matrix made products seems to be a less refined experience than one is maybe accustomed too with triple A developers, still the tone of the last updates seems to hint that i might give it go again soon
BTW, there is always some expectancy hanging around for me how this magistral space game will finally spin in my favor for once. Delivering the utmost true fun and exciting turn of events at a moments notice but i fear it will be again a lot of hard work, and some concessions!
Most fun i had so far was me screwing around at the start of the this grand adventure. I once found a lost shipyard, catapulting my empire into top ranks of the high and mighty, started a war, won a lot but then slowly but certain the tides changed. In the end the financial upkeep turned out to high a cost! I fear that might also be what's happening somewhere else on this globe.
It is to bad we (still) don't have a reset button for real life!
do i hear an Amen ?!
