Run a General Store in the Wild West in Wild West Supermarket Simulator – now available on GOG in early access!

The Wild West during the prime of the Gold Rush. The year is 1850. It was an offer you couldn’t refuse: Take over a prosperous General Store on the main street of a thriving town. What they forgot to mention: The store is a mere shadow of its former self in the middle of a ghost town. After the Gold was gone, so were most of the people. But you want to live the American Dream. And no one can stop you.

Now on GOG!

GOG.com: Early Access: Wild West Supermarket Simulator
Pretty stupid title.

But apart from that: I like the idea of leading a general store in the Wild West.

Will wait for it to be properly released, of course.
This is something that I would play except that the system requirements are too steep for my laptop.
I had hoped a "General Store" would be a big part of Wild West Dynasty...

If someone could just wrangle all these cowboy, saloon, and general store sims into one game...?

Anyway, I'm not a big management sim player, but I'm a sucker for games set the Wild West and those that have a feeling of authenticity. I'll probably give this game a go... but... I'll never utter the word "supermarket" dang nab it!

[But why?]

General stores of the ages before the Piggly Wiggly were either somewhere you brought a list and then the storekeep would fetch it, or were specialized shops, like the Horse Nail Factory.

You certainly were not selling meat on open wooden counters, that's for sure[!]

Also 45$ for a shopping trip? 18$ dollars could buy you whole square miles just some 50 years before!

Many Genral Stores did indeed sell meat of differing varieties butchered on-the-spot.

From what I gather there are different settings for pricing... one that seemingly is meant to replicate the general pricing of the era depicted and another to replicate a more modern pricing structure. Will be interesting to see if this is actually the case.

I don't see any other games from SunDust? What games are you talking about?

I’m a bit worried about a game dev willing to throw the word “supermarket” into a wild west game. Also wondering if this will turn into something like gas station simulator, with over a dozen paid dlc to get all the bells and whistles.
