[This is a sticky post, it will be visible in every single page of this thread. It has been published in October 2020.]

Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

That being said, here you can find a post with dxenija's community poll to have better understanding of the situation: CLICK.

At the time of writing, open giveaway threads are:
- Massive Giveaways Blog
- Free (temporary) keys giveaway central topic. (this one)
- Updated Itch.io giveaways

Be nice to each other *flies away*

Has anyone made an account for onstove? I've never seen this platform before.
What's their story? How was the experience? Good or bad

Someone likely has, not me though. I have seen it before, the last time there was a post here with a giveaway.
Their story is that it's part of the korean Smilegate conglomerate who's into a lot of different kinds of investment stuff.

Beyond that, dunno.

I did make an account there yesterday just to get the latest freebie, "Gunbird 2", because the shooter looks awesome. However, I'm afraid this one's gonna site on my backlog for a while. Therefore, I didn't even installed their launcher to see how it is.
Ampersat is free on Steam until July 6th, 2025, 5 PM UTC.

Thanks mates. I remember seeing this site a few months ago in passing, and had no idea what it is and forgot about it.
Was hoping to get more understanding and research on this

I did set up an account for the GigaBash giveaway some time ago, it uses it's own launcher/store which behaves like any other (also the exes and dlls checked out ok with virustotal). A lot of their content in the store seems to be anime-focused.

Claiming the giveaway does still require more "we use your data for..." agreements than perhaps is really needed though.

That sounds ok. No DRM free installers but that's like asking for the holy grail.
As long as they don't have spyware-like coding like Dark and Darker
(fun fact about DND: was removed in Epic Games libraries and refunded for paid customers)
But I'm not a fan of another client.
Can we add the freebies in a browser?

You don't need the client to claim the games (though you do need an account) - I successfully claimed Gunbird2 in a browser using the link provided by thiogott.

It looks like you DO need the client for when you want to install and play the games though.
