That escalated quickly.

Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation, the stand-alone expansion that intensifies the RTS conflict between Humans and Substrate, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and multiplayer. Purchasing Escalation until November 17 gives you a free copy of Ashes of the Singularity. Owners of Ashes of the Singularity get a permanent 50% discount on Escalation.

The galaxy is on fire. Spaceships fall from the sky and the forces of the Post Human Coalition clash with the Substrate across massive battlefields, as the gears of war keep grinding on. What could cause an even further Escalation ?

How about two new campaigns, chronicling the origin of the Substrate and an internal rebellion that threatens to pull the humans apart? Or perhaps the new gameplay elements and maps, that allow for even more intense, large-scale combat. Add to these the balance-upsetting new buildings, units, and upgrades, and it's easy to see how things can get wild in the already chaotic battlegrounds covered in Ashes of the Singularity.

Adapt your strategies and prepare for even more massive battles between humans and machines in Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation, DRM-free on GOG.com.
Those who get the game until November 17, 5:59 PM UTC will get a free code for Ashes of the Singularity added to their account between November 18-21. Owners of the original Ashes of the Singularity get a permanent 50% discount on Escalation.

This is nice and all but I doubt anyone is even playing the original on GOG considering there's no cross platform with Steam.
Not happy about price. Bought the original and now they want £30 more fro an this not cool. Why no discount for people who already have the original game. I know it is standalone but still. OK rant over.

Sadly that's Stardocks business model for all their games.

Well, there should be one if I can read properly:

Owners of Ashes of the Singularity get a permanent 50% discount on Escalation.
EDIT: Achievement unlocked: Ninja'd Ninja Cat.

Sooo... Escalation is expanded Ashes of Singularity and the bonus for buying now is getting Ashes of Singularity, that, in theory, is inferior version of the same game?

In that case, you should wait for GOG to fix it.

Ah thanks for that

You're welcome. Sometimes those discounts only show up that way - it' a bit annoying but at least the discount is applied in the end...
Looks lovely, certainly. Is there any reason to buy/play the original game now? I ask not snidely, but sincerely, as I don't know the differences between them.

If i had to pay full price for this stand-alone DLC package, i wouldn't touch it.

I'll grab it only because of the 50% discount.

EDIT: Okay, i just bought the thing. Just gotta hope Stardock keep the game updated in line with the Steam version....

Quick question about getting a copy of Ashes of the Singularity for free if you buy Escalation. Would this free copy have all the DLCs included or no?
