I like this indie tabletop conversion.

There is a lot on offer, narrated story, rpg mechanics for your troops and you. Units can promote or spend their xp towards better equipment. Magic and Monsters. Wearables for your heroes

The battles tho, utterly frustrating!

At least you don't have to transform into the leader of a terrorist organization, but you might want to consider researching Delta Force operatives or something if you want to have a chance.

I'm just at the start and will probably continue with casual small steps whenever i find some time.

Hey, good call lol. Once you brought that up it reminded you of Fallout 3, Megaton instantly came to mind. Mars War Logs does kinda look FO3 in places huh?

I thought Tell Me Why was pretty well done with respect to Tyler and his identity. I've yet to see a studio of that caliber (not quite AAA but feels a little more than AA) put out something that's remotely close to it. Would you recommend LiS?
