Alright, first of all I encourage all of you guys to switch to
this thread as it was started earlier, it is about the same matter and has many useful links and different opinions. This way you can save yourselves time.
Beligerent: They even stated that the PC version would
not be dumbed down because of consoles... And yet here we are. I built a brand new PC,
specifically for the Witcher 3, for apparently no reason.
It's said NVidia HairWorks (part of GameWorks) eats a lot of GPU, so to have 1080p 60fps on Uber settings with GameWorks you'll need a very powerful rig. Having built a new PC was not in vain.
Beligerent: Everyone who has eyes can tell the huge and obvious difference from what the game looked like when shown in 2013, to what it looks like now. This isn't a small change, graphically, it looks like it has been downgraded quite a bit.
Back in 2013 there was no game, only the trailer. It was made to look mind-blowing. Following CDPR staff there was no game to downgrade so no downgrade has taken place. You can hear it yourself in the beginning of
this interview. To be honest this kind of excuse sounds cheesy even to me, and I'm not a big fan of these downgrade talks.
Beligerent: This is the
first company that I have
ever trusted enough to pre-order their game (the Witcher 3), and then they pull this stunt?! Lesson learned, thank you CD Projekt Red for treating me and others like chumps.
Let's just wait till 19th and the first youtube reviews of (real) PC version, or if your new PC is really powerful, you'll see even earlier with Uber settings and GameWorks on. Then come back here and tell us what you think.
Beligerent: Edit: Here's a link to screenshot comparision so people will know exactly what I mean:

The link is broken, it directs to this thread. You need to copy-paste it to follow. It should be like
this.
All the footage we've seen on youtube is mostly console gameplay for the rarest exception of the last few days which to me looks like a fake, it seems they were not playing on Uber w/GW. As I said, let's wait a bit and see for ourselves.
Eraser74: PC Games hardware did a test and the game ran on ultra and full HD even on a 2 GhZ cpu and GeForce 770. The pc version is the most beautiful and best performing version of The Witcher 3.
Here, at the end of the post, you can find requirement for different settings.
