SargonAelther: The whole
"take a popular Charles Perrault or Brothers Grimm character and make them into something baby-friendly" has to be the worst, saddest, laziest bandwagon that Disney has been riding for the past century. Disney even removed the toe chopping from Cinderella! What's wrong with toe chopping!?
Breja: I fully agree, I mostly hate the "disneyfied" versions. And what they did to Captain Hook is a damned travesty. Don't even get me started on the Jungle Book.
I just don't think that "they made Alice in Wonderland into
happy little elves from the Simpsons" makes the Winnie-the-Pooh slasher any better.
I'm not saying it's bad to do anything different with an established character/story ever. I'm just saying relying on cheap shock value making a children's icon creepy or gory is lame.
And yes, Amercan McGee's Alice is great, but that game actually has substance and predates the Thomas the Eldritch Murder Engine trend by many years.
Luckily - these are all YOUR opinions and nothing will change because of them. People will be creative in the ways you don't approve of and that's great. Variety is the spice of life. You need to learn to deal with that at some point, as an adult.
