Award-winning puzzle adventure game – Chants of Sennaar is now available on GOG!

Divided since the dawn of time, the Peoples of the Tower no longer speak to each other, isolated by fear or mistrust. It is said that one day, a Traveler will find the wisdom to break down the walls and restore the balance. Travel the endless steps of a prodigious labyrinth, uncover the truth and unveil the mysteries of this fascinating universe where ancient languages are both the lock and the key.

You can now also get Original Soundtrack and Game + OST pack.

Now on GOG!
What even is this game? I couldn't get much from the description and the screens.
Recently bought Spelunky 2 and Outer Wilds on Steam, glad I waited for Chants of Sennaar

The most basic description is that you assume the role of a traveler, and your task is to work your way up the tower. Along the way, you will encounter runes, signs, and characters whose language you cannot understand. You will need to decipher them to make progress and develop an understanding of the place, its people, their history, and their stories.

There's a demo available on Steam, so you can get a better understanding of what the game is all about and to gain some impressions. I can reccomend the game, and for me it was no question to insta-purchase it, when I saw it was released here today. :)
I played the demo, I got a great impression from it. Quite unusual translation puzzle adventure!

Thank you so much for that description. It makes a lot of sense.
This game is great. Really enjoyed my playthru.
Whelp, I USED to have this wishlisted on steam, now it resides in my cart!
A couple years old but certainly nice to finally see it show up, especially as it's from a semi-"big" publisher.
Focus is on my blocked publisher list on Steam because of these ridiculous EULAs.

Even with the devs not using them, which it sounds like they're *not* being creepy spyware spewing sociopaths, that boilerplate BS is something I will *not* accept ever again.

Too many people *are* abusing it, and having the wording in there telling you to accept or be disallowed playing just means I'm *not* playing it.

No shade to the devs, they have already asured they are *not* doing this vis the Steam forums, which puts them ahead of the Steamworld devs who got caught doing it and then said (paraphrased) "We're removing it becasue of outcry but we plan to do it again as soon as possible."

I'd suggest people send messages to Focus, it's them who are the issue, their contracts say the devs need to put this creepy language in there to be published and *they* need to be called out for it and told it is copsting them sales.

I've been confused about it too. The game's page doesn't have a EULA link but has a review speaking about it in an alarmed way. Maybe is under the usual GOG terms (so "just respect copyright" things) and people were just thinking there were heavy conditions due to the publisher's contested habits.

Seems to be a bit like Heaven's Vault.

Demo is not available anymore. I hate it when devs do this. Especially in games with "unusual gameplay" you'd think they'd want potential customers to have an opportunity to test out the waters and maybe being intrigued.

The demo is definitely still available, I just downloaded and installed it right now, and it works perfectly fine. Why did you think it was removed?

Because it does not show for me. I can only access the page with the complete game. There's also no demo if I search for it on Steam. Could it be region locked?

That’s because Steam combines them on the same page when a game is released. If you had clicked the link or opened the Steam page, you’d see the option to download the demo right there. Separate demo pages usually only exist if the demo has a different name from the full game.
