wh1tepointer: I knew someone would bring up the mod, and while it's impressive, the ability to "swarm like mad" is kind of a requirement for Tyranids to be implemented properly and it would cause a balance concern if the race was balanced around that, much like zerg in Starcraft.

We don't really know what Relic's potential vision of a possible DOW Tyranids would have ideally looked like.
Tyranids didn't swarm like mad in DOW2 and they were still playable there. I believe Tyranids mod is included in superb Unification mod, which balances most playable races around DoW balance rather than Ultimate Apocalypse's, and does it quite well.

Unification had some other issues, though most of those are easily remediable thanks to its modular nature.

Mafwek: You won't have a bird view from original edition without installing mods considering how DoW is extremely zoomed in.
That’s a problem specific to 1920×1080 (or maybe 16:9?) displays, that I am not affected with. I play it in the original 4:3 / 5:4 ratio.

Default zoom at 4:3 isn't like on this video at 2:28?

Two years ago, I bought the anniversary edition. The game didn’t even start. And GOG refused to give me my money back (even though it shows that I "played" for 2 minutes).
Question: is there anyone in my situation for whom this version works? (so I don’t get fooled again)
The hardware is the same: asus rog with nvidia 3050, win 11, it should work.

The guy is obviously just guesstimating the default. Either way, the max camera zoom out is pretty low in the vanilla game, but it's made even worse when forced to widescreen (which is what's shown in the video). I played in 4:3 and installed the zoom out mod anyway.
